Highlights of this 2009/10 season will be significant debuts in French repertoire. After Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Carmen at the Macerata Festival, Philippe will sing his first Des Grieux in Manon at the Massenet Festival of Saint-Etienne in November. Beforehands, he is Auber’s “Fra Diavolo” at the Volksoper Wien. In January, he will sing Si j’étais Roi by Adam in New Delhi in an exceptional Franco-Indian production. Later in Rotterdam, he is Tristan in Martin’s Le Vin Herbé. Other performances this season include Don Giovanni with Kent Nagano in Rieti, Donizetti’s Rita at the Journées Lyriques de Chartres, Mathilde de Guise by Hummel in Bratislava, BIzet’s Pearls Fishers in Moscow alongside Annick Massis, and concerts in Paris, Warsaw, Riga, St Petersburg...
