Highlights of this 2009/10 season will be significant debuts in French repertoire. After Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Carmen at the Macerata Festival, Philippe will make sing his first Des Grieux in Manon at the Massenet Festival of Saint-Etienne in November.

Beforehands, he is once again Auber’s charming bandit “Fra Diavolo” at the Volksoper Wien.

In January, he will sing the leading role in the rarely performed Si j’étais Roi by Adam in New Delhi in an exceptional Franco-Indian production. In Rotterdam in May and June, he will sing Tristan in the beautiful and mystical Le Vin Herbé by Martin.

Other performances this season include Ottavio in Don Giovanni with Kent Nagano in Rieti, Beppe in Donizetti’s Rita at the Journées Lyriques de Chartres, Beaufort in Mathilde de Guise by Hummel in Bratislava, and concerts in Paris, Montpellier, Warsaw, Riga, St Petersburg...
